The following call for transnation co-operation partners has bee issues by a Blugarian Local Action Group.

Dear colleagues,

We write you on the behalf of of Nikopol and Guliantzi Municipalities,  Pleven district – Bulgaria. They are situated in the middle of North Bulgaria in the Danube River Plain and border on Danube River. More than 50 % of both municipalities’ territories are included in the European Ecological Network Natura 2000.

Municipalities are initiators of creation of Local initiative group under Axis 4 – LEADER from Rural Development Programme 2007 – 2013. Within this programme they are implementing a project “Acquisition of skills and achievement of public activity in the territory for pontential local initiative groups”.

Main goal of the project is to reinforce participation and organisation of local community in processes of Municipalities territories development, through establishing of active partnerships at local level for realizing of initiatives ensuring long-term sustainable development of the region.

Tangible project objectives are:

-To establish local initiative group;

-To elaborate local development strategy;

-To activate, encourage and prepare population for Local development strategy implementation.

Activity 4 of the project is “Training visits for potential Local initiative groups /LIG/ representatives or for representatives of LIG from other EU member-countries for acquisition of practical knowledge for that – how to elaborate and implement strategy for local development“.

In this relation we would like to receive information for already operating LEADER LAGs along the EU member-countries, to invite them for cooperation in order to exchange visits within an agreed schedule.

In case of additonal question regarding the financial conditions – our project has the appropriate funding for every activity included.

This project activity aims exchange of ideas, experience and practices for LAG establishing and strategy planning of local sustainable development  at local level, by each side visiting the other one in place in order to have discussions and info-exchange.

Municipalities and Me, as their representative, intent to work out a strategy, after establishing both Leader groups of course, targeted to enforcing the Leader programme, and also aiming the environment sustainable management and related issues simultaneously with the sustainable rural development, as a whole.

The only condition is the partner LEADER group to be officially approved from the European Commission working within 2007 – 2013 programme.
