wlr-logo1West Limerick Resources administers the Rural Development Programme 2001-2013 in the West Limerick area. Through its business plan, West Limerick Resources seeks to further develop the level of indigenous enterprise and entrepreneurship in the West Limerick area.

To achieve this, West Limerick Resources will be rolling out a series of training programmes over the coming months. The first in this series is a short training programme for people who are thinking of starting their own business but either don’t have a business idea in mind or don’t know how to develop a business idea.

The programme is designed for participants to:

  • Be familiar with how to assess and generate business ideas
  • Get direction on where to go with their business idea - what steps to take
  • Have a greater understanding of when an idea means business
  • Be introduced to the characteristics and traits of the entrepreneur and have had a chance to look at their own strengths and weaknesses
  • Be aware of the personal commitment required in running their own business
  • Know how to assess the viability of their own business idea
  • Different business models and running the numbers
  • Be introduced to the requirement for a business plan

Places on the training programme are limited. If you are interested in participating, please contact West Limerick Resources for an application form on 069 62222 or email jcasey@wlr.ie

Download a training registration form.

A fee of €15 per participant will apply. The training programme will commence in April 2010 in Newcastle West.
