Speaking at the meeting of the Council of Agriculture Ministers held in Merida, Spain, Tuesday, the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Brendan Smith TD said that “the future common agricultural policy (CAP) must support farm incomes and address the issue of price and income volatility while at the same time avoiding market distortions”.

€5 billion for Rural Development

CAP simplification: Commission to take on further simplification projects

Today, the European Commission’s Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development issued a report with the reactions to the 39 simplification suggestions which Member States jointly submitted to the Commission in April.
